Kate, a white woman, is smiling at the camera

Hi, I’m Kate (she/her). whether you’ve come to learn about my doula services, my knitting patterns, or both—I’m happy you’re here.

In doing this work, I have found that there is a surprising overlap between birth and handicrafts, and not just when I knit baby sweaters. My core values of equity, inclusion, personalization, and confidence-building have guided me in both writing knitting patterns that fit and feel good, and providing birth and postpartum support that meets your individual needs along the way. Regardless of what you come here for, my goal is to make you feel cared for in every respect.

When I am not knitting (or crocheting, or cross-stitching, or dabbling in other fiber arts) or caring for birthing people and their families, I reside in Minneapolis with my husband and our rescue dog. We enjoy cooking (him) and baking (me), camping, brewery patios, and reading.

A Crafted Birth is: anti-racist, trauma-informed, LGBTQIA2S-friendly, size-inclusive, autonomy-focused, and committed to financial equity and accessibility.
